My client is a well established school in Doha, Qatar which is looking for experienced Primary PE Teacher to join for next academic year. The school has about 1500 female students which are mainly from Arabic backgrounds, where English is not the first language. The students are very well behaved and the school is well resourced.
The ideal candidate will have experience of teaching primary PE to students in an Islamic faith school delivering the UK national curriculum.
Requirements to Apply
1. B.Ed in Primary Education with PE specialism
2. Degree in PE/Sports with a PGCE in Primary Education with QTS
3. Ideally 2 years experience although some STRONG NQT's will be considered
4. Western trained
5. A HIGH command of written and spoken English
6. Being able to speak Arabic is a bonus
7. Must be up to date with modern pedagogy
You should be experienced in teaching a wide variety of sports, yet be culturally aware of the requirements in teaching Islamic students a variety of sports. This is an up and coming school with a great reputation in the region. It is accredited by QNSA. Salary Package
1. TAX FREE salary up to 12,000 QAR per month

Primary PE Teacher Main Duties
1. The PE specialist will undertake all duties required of a qualified teacher, and will deliver high quality teaching and learning with primary PE lessons throughout the academy.
2. Keep up to date with government initiatives relating to the teaching of PE and sport and prepare policies and targets as required.
3. Support the academy in developing appropriate intra and inter school competitions and challenge all students to engage in appropriate activities.
4. Ensure students have access to appropriate opportunities both within and outside of the academy.
5. Maintain records to show participation in events/competitions.
6. Maintain data collection in line with academy policy and be committed to meeting data targets set.
7. Plan, prepare and deliver, and support the academy staff with the delivery of a broad, rich and engaging PE curriculum.
8. Promote, develop and support the delivery of high quality teaching and learning in primary PE.
9. Help staff to develop confidence and competence by modelling good practice and acting as a mentor.
10. Demonstrate and support teachers to achieve high quality outcomes for young people through PE and school sport.
11. Review and update schemes of work in line with the National Curriculum.
12. Deliver whole academy in-service training for teachers and teaching assistants.
13. Deliver sports clubs to students within the academy.
14. Commit at all times to the safeguarding and protection of children and young people.
15. Regularly attend School Sports Partnership meetings and PE cluster meetings.
16. Undertake continuing professional development.
17. Any other duties deemed reasonable by the Principal.
Primary PE Teacher Job Description
1. To teach high quality key stage 1 and 2 PE, within the framework of the National Curriculum and academy policy.
2. To ensure that the highest quality teaching and learning are delivered.
3. To identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for key stage 1 and 2 and keep up to date with the latest educational issues.
4. To take a professional approach to the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons and clubs.
5. To maintain high quality lesson and behaviour management.
6. To maintain high expectations of students and ensure that teaching materials and tasks are appropriate, with opportunities created for stretch and challenge at all levels.
7. To maintain appropriate assessment records and data collection in line with academy guidelines.
8. To develop appropriate schemes of work and long term overviews of PE.
9. To support and mentor staff in the high quality delivery of teaching and learning within PE.
10. To plan, deliver, and assist in the planning and delivery of, a board and engaging programme of physical and sporting activities; including intra and inter school competitions.
11. To maintain a current knowledge of National Curriculum PE, governing body and other relevant agencies’ programmes, policies, guidance and advice.
12. To be committed to continued professional development (CPD) relevant to the post.
13. To attend and contribute to staff, cluster and school sports partnership meetings.
14. To subject lead PE within the Academy, and monitor the planning, delivery and data of the subject.
15. To deliver PPA cover for 3 days a week and staff CPD two days a week, as directed by the Principal.
