The Role: Senior Finance Business Partner (FP&A)
Location: Milton Keynes
Contract length: 6 months
Day rate: Negotiable
Hybrid work? Yes – 2 days per week on site
We are supporting a client of ours in their search for a strong FP&A business partner.
The role purpose is to provide valuable finance business partnering to the Senior Leadership Team and support the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) in building a strong performing team. Below is a summary of key responsibilities:
* Month-End Reporting: Oversee the process to ensure compliance with deadlines.
* Reporting Pack Compilation: Gather and analyse data to create a comprehensive reporting pack, including insightful commentary.
* KPI Development & Monitoring: Analyse KPIs to identify risks and opportunities, providing insights for future implications.
* Reconciliations Management: Ensure reconciliations meet audit requirements and are completed in a timely manner.
* Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform and ensure alignment with the general ledger.
* Forecast & Budget Consolidation: Prepare reports for senior stakeholders ready for board submission.
* Presentation of Budget/Forecasts: Tailor presentations to highlight key issues for senior management.
* Budgeting Tool Proficiency: Optimize and support team use of financial planning tools.
Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
* Comprehensive Financial Analysis: Offer insights into performance, trends, and variances.
* Identification of Performance Drivers: Recommend improvements based on financial results.
* Collaboration with Management: Challenge and improve performance against financial plans.
Process Improvement:
* Enhance FP&A Processes: Work to improve processes, tools, and systems for efficiency.
* Implement Best Practices: Drive sustainable improvements in planning and reporting.
* Streamline Workflows: Ensure efficient data collection and actionable reporting.
* Internal Controls Review: Regularly assess and enhance internal controls.
General Duties:
* Personal Development: Engage in continuous professional development.
* Audit File Management: Ensure timely compilation and review of audit files.
* Liaison with External Auditors: Address and resolve any audit queries.
* Adaptability: Duties may vary based on business needs.
* This role requires a mix of technical accounting skills, strategic financial insight, and a commitment to process improvement and team development.
