About the role
This position is for an Advanced Practitioner in the Connected Persons’ Team. The connected Persons’ team is a key part of Rochdale’s commitment to promoting kinship care, where we aim to enable children entering care to remain within their family network wherever possible.
As an Advanced Practitioner you will be expected to undertake complex case work, support team development and be part of the management of the team. You will contribute to the allocation of work and take on a quality assurance role to ensure excellent standards of practice. There is opportunity to develop leadership skills in this role with support from your line manager.
About you
The children, young people and families we work with come from a variety of backgrounds and in order to deliver the best possible care and support, it is vital that we have a workforce that is culturally competent, representative and understands their unique experiences and perspectives. In line with our commitment to diversity and inclusion we would like to encourage applications from any individuals with or without protected characteristics as set out within the Equality ACT 2010.
You will have experience of working within an Advanced Practitioner position or be an experienced Social Worker who is ready to progress to an Advanced Social Worker level. Experience of working with kinship carers would be advantageous.
About us
At Rochdale Borough Council, we continue on an incredible journey to create a brighter future for Rochdale’s children. As a Local Authority striving to deliver excellent practice, we believe in pushing boundaries and achieving good outcomes for children and families. Our vision is clear and we are looking for an Advanced Practitioner to join the connected persons’ team who is unwavering in their commitment to promoting kinship care and putting children and their families at the centre of their practice.
This is an exciting time to be joining the service as we have established three Mockingbird Hubs, a Supported Lodgings Service and the fostering team are also working closely with the No Wrong Door hub. In addition we are training all our foster carers in the Secure Base model and Therapeutic Parenting with PACE training. Rochdale BC have adopted and implemented the Family Safeguarding Model and are supporting families to achieve good outcomes in a relational way. In line with this model, motivational interviewing training has been rolled out to all staff.
