As Payroll Administrator, you'll work as part of a team of 4 Payroll Admins to ensure that our UK and Ireland colleagues are paid whilst supporting the timely and effective resolution of all payroll queries and requests, demonstrating your commitment to our colleagues and providing a customer-focused service. Face-to-face collaboration is an integral part of our warm, friendly culture, so you'll work from our head office three days a week, working flexibly around our core working hours of 10am-3pm. Beyond that, how, when and where you work is up to you.
Payroll processing, to include:
1. Starters and leavers
2. Amendments
3. Tax Code changes
4. Set-up and maintain Court Orders
5. SIP & Sharesave
6. Childcare Vouchers
7. Loans and advances
8. Pension Opt-In
9. Sick Pay
10. Manual calculations and adjustments
11. Rotafix maintenance
12. Liaise with external payroll provider on all payroll matters and support the management of the relationship
Additional responsibilities:
1. Main contact for payroll enquiries from Trade Counters, Head Office and Contact Centre.
2. Manage the Payroll shared mailbox and respond within the agreed SLA.
3. Reconcile and manage the flow of Auto Enrolment and Pension data to the Pension Administrator.
4. Provide advice to managers on best practice for maintaining SAP Time.
5. Support the business in relevant project initiatives, as required, by providing subject matter expertise.
6. Keep up to date with relevant Payroll legislation and best practice.
7. Ensure all standard operating procedures are complete and updated annually.
8. Ensure compliance with Group Financial Reporting Manual and Screwfix internal controls.
9. Identify process improvement opportunities as part of Screwfix Smart Working.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Experience in Payroll Services, including understanding of statutory payments - including Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity & Paternity, PAYE and National Insurance.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively across the business and with third parties, including HMRC.
3. Intermediate Excel skills as a minimum.
4. Knowledge of SAP HR would be an advantage.
5. Ability to develop solutions to problems and identify process improvement opportunities.
6. Attention to detail to ensure accuracy of colleague pay.
