Key responsibilities: (Please see Job Pack for more details) Oversee the health, safety, academic, social and pastoral welfare of each child in their care (whether flexi, weekly or full boarding pupils) and to act in loco parentis Encourage and inspire boarders to achieve excellence in academic and co-curricular activities and also to develop their social skills Ensure the smooth running of the Boarding House and compliance with Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and National Minimum Standards for boarding. Plan and oversee regular boarding inspections, fire evacuation drills etc Undertake training as required in areas such as Health and Safety, Child Protection and Safeguarding, paediatric first aid Be in regular contact with and be a main point of communication between parents and the school Ensure that routine paperwork is dealt with efficiently and proper records are kept in accordance with the requirements of ISI Manage the effective performance of the boarding team, including the training of boarding staff where appropriate Set, supervise and monitor duty rotas in the Boarding House to ensure there is adequate supervision What we are looking for: Essential Good level degree or a suitable Post Graduate qualification 3 A-Levels, IB or equivalent 8 GCSE A-C (English and Maths essential) or equivalent Desirable Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, or equivalent experience Teaching experience in a prep school Awareness of Safeguarding requirements and good practice within a boarding school setting Involvement in extra-curricular activities (professional, amateur or voluntary) Applications: Please apply directly via our recruitment website Careers | Wellington College Prep Careers, partial applications via job boards will not be accepted.
