Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various tasks related to gas installations, maintenance, and repairs as well as general plumbing unvented cylinder installations (G3). This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work with power tools, hand tools, and perform heavy lifting as necessary. The Gas Engineer will ensure compliance with safety regulations while delivering high-quality service to our clients.
Responsibilities
* Install, maintain, and repair gas appliances and systems in residential properties.
* Conduct thorough inspections of gas systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Weld and assemble components as required for gas installations.
* Use power tools and hand tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
* Plumb gas lines and ensure proper connections for optimal performance.
* Perform heavy lifting when necessary to transport equipment or materials.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues to management.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, to complete projects on time.
* Uphold high standards of customer service while interacting with clients on-site.
Requirements
* Own van and all necessary tools to carry out work
* Public Liability insurance
* Good time keeping
* Good communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
* Proficiency in using power tools, hand tools, and performing welding tasks is highly desirable.
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to installations.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications in gas engineering

* Monday to Friday
* Occasional weekends available
Experience
* Heating: 4 years (required)
Licence/Certification
* Driving Licence (required)
* ASC (required)
* G3 for unvented cylinder
Location
* Covering 20-30 Miles radius around St. Neots
