We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Wrexham to assist with the appointment of a Compliance Officer, on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.20 - £22.92 per Hour
Summary:
The Compliance Officer - Health and Safety will provide expert guidance to ensure the council meets its statutory health and safety responsibilities. The role involves advising managers, conducting inspections, investigating incidents, delivering training, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
Responsibilities:
* Attend meetings and provide expert health and safety advice.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and advisory actions.
* Investigate incidents, ensure compliance with RIDDOR, and report to insurance if necessary.
* Provide risk assessment guidance and ensure safe working practices.
* Develop and deliver health and safety training as needed.
* Act as the liaison officer for Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
* Coordinate with Fire and Rescue, the Health and Safety Executive, and other authorities.
Qualifications:
* Degree or equivalent in Health and Safety,extensive experience in related field to provide competent advice and support,
Member of IOSH (or working towards this) NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
Required Experience:
* Experience of working in a local authority
* Experience of giving strategic advice to managers at all levels within an organisation
