The College has introduced hybrid working which enables employees to work from both their home and in the College. As part of this arrangement, employees are required to spend at least 50% of their working time in the College, with the days being subject to the needs of the business.
The Role
The Content Officer will play a key role in the delivery of strategic marketing activity for the College. They will develop engaging content and marketing communications for our digital channels.
They will be a key part of the team working on the development and launch of the College’s new website. With outstanding communication skills and a high attention to detail, the job holder will confidently write, edit and proofread content for our website – implementing the most up-to-date SEO principles – to inform and facilitate engagement with the College. They will be confident working independently building webpages as well as liaising with stakeholders to ensure high quality and accurate content.
The Content Officer is part of the marketing and creative team and reports to the Content Marketing Manager. They will develop excellent insight into the career journey and profile of our target audiences. Based on these insights, they will devise and implement content marketing activity to promote and attract interest in the key products and services offered by the College.
About You
The post-holder will require the following.
Essential:
* Degree-level education in marketing, journalism or a related subject, or comparable experience
* A minimum of one year’s experience in a professional marketing or communications role
* Excellent communication and editorial skills, with an outstanding proofreading ability and very strong writing skills, particularly writing for the web
* A good understanding of managing and editing webpages using a content management system (CMS)
* Proven track record in delivering engaging and effective marketing content
* Demonstrable experience of digital communications
* Skilled at prioritising and coordinating multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Highly competent in use of Microsoft Office suite
Desirable:
* Experience of working in a membership or academic environment
* Experience using Drupal CMS
* Experience using content management tools such as Surfer SEO, Canva and Monday.com
* Knowledge and experience of market research and insight, and making data-driven decisions
