Assistant Head of Hard Services
Ensure that the company delivers on its contractual obligations professionally, on time, and in a cost-effective manner. Support the Head of Hard Services Manager in the daily operation of the Technical Services department to upkeep and maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, and fabricated services of the building.
We are looking for someone with a suitable Engineering background looking to progress into a management role.
Main Duties
1. Ensure Mitie's contractual obligations with the client are met.
2. Operate the contract within budgeted levels without reducing the service levels.
3. Co-operate with the Centre and Interserve to fulfill its moral and legal duties and obligations.
4. Manage the planned preventive maintenance system (MIS System) for the centres' Mechanical and Electrical Services, including the Building Fabric works and subcontractors' works.
5. Manage Contractors ensuring they comply with their contractual obligations and health and safety regulations.
6. Manage and adhere to the Permit to Work System.
7. Manage small projects.
8. Control all expenditure associated within the technical services department.
9. Manage the small site-based team of Engineers with the assistance of the Hard Services Manager.
10. Produce monthly reports on the progress of works carried out within the calendar month, including the utilities.
11. Understand Environmental Management.
12. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
13. Undertake any reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.
14. Attend any training or development courses as necessary.
15. Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself, colleagues, and the general public who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.
Person Specification
1. 18th Edition required.
2. IPAF 3A and 3B preferred but training can be given.
3. Knowledge and ability to use IT systems including MS Office.
4. Ability to influence and liaise with others.
5. Disciplined and professional attitude.
6. Ability to work within established procedures and contribute positively to any improvements.
7. Ability to listen and demonstrate creative thinking skills.
8. Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
9. Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and use own initiative.

11. Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to flex style to meet the needs of different business units.
