About LEASE:
The Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) provides free, legal advice to leaseholders and park homeowners in England and Wales. We're committed to empowering people to navigate their leasehold ownership through ensuring they have access to clear, accurate expert information.
There are an estimated 5 million leaseholders in England and Wales and many of them need help and support. We're the go-to source for free, impartial advice on leaseholds and each year 1.3 million people visit our website and 35,000 email or call us looking for help. As the leasehold sector grows we expect more people to need help and support.
About the role:
LEASE is embarking on an exciting digital transformation that will enable our expert legal advice to reach and help more people than ever before. As our first senior content designer, you'll be key to this transformation, shaping our online presence and ensuring our information is accessible, interactive, engaging, and truly user-centered. You'll have the opportunity to:
1. Help millions of people: You will be able to positively impact the lives of millions of people. Through its interactions with the public LEASE generates unique insights that can inform policy making and influence the wider sector as our lead on data you will be key to creating sector change from this.
2. Create actionable insights: Analyse data from a range of sources (website traffic, customer interactions, internal databases) to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities within the leasehold sector; proactively explore data to uncover hidden insights and inform strategic decision-making.
3. Shape policy through data storytelling: Translate complex data insights into compelling narratives, visualisations, and presentations that effectively communicate key findings and recommendations to policymakers and stakeholders; contribute to policy development and advocacy efforts.
4. Develop strategic data partnerships: The leasehold sector has a wide range of organisations which hold data that would be more valuable if joined up. Working closely with our board, policy lead and CEOs, you will identify, cultivate, and pilot opportunities to link LEASE data with other organisations in a safe, ethical, and mutually beneficial manner.
5. Experiment and implement AI: Our board and leadership team are extremely keen for LEASE to make full use of AI. As the lead on data you will be responsible for the piloting, evaluation and implementation of AI tools and techniques, including machine learning, for natural language processing and other types of analysis to enhance LEASE'S data capabilities.
6. Modernise data infrastructure: You’ll have the chance to completely modernise LEASE’s data systems and processes, (a mix of Excel, bespoke Microsoft SQL server and Tableau). Implementing robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.
7. Develop, recruit and mentor team members: Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering their growth in data analysis skills and techniques; contribute to building a collaborative and high-performing data team; this role includes the opportunity for matrix management.
LEASE is a small but growing organisation of ~30 people across a range of specialisms. You will be one of the first people to join our new digital and data team. As a small organisation everyone needs to be able to take on a mix of responsibilities. However, it also means we can be responsive and adaptive to new ideas, technology or sector changes. As the digital transformation fully gets underway you will have the opportunity to hire and develop other data capability in LEASE.
Skills and experience:
1. Data analysis and presentation: Strong experience in data analysis, demonstrating an ability to collect, clean, transform, analyse, and interpret complex data sets from a variety of sources (e.g., web analytics, CRM systems, internal databases, spreadsheets).
