Job overview
The Ward Clerk is a vital member of the Jim Quick Transplant team, providing essential clerical and administrative support. We are seeking a highly organized, reliable individual with excellent time-management skills and strong communication abilities. The role requires a commitment to delivering a high standard of service to both patients and staff.
The Ward Clerk will be responsible for maintaining clear communication with patients' families, providing updates, and acting as a key point of liaison. This includes coordinating patient admissions to the ward, updating the HIVE system, and handling phone calls professionally and efficiently.
The role operates within established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines to ensure smooth operations within the department. Additionally, the Ward Clerk will have the opportunity to contribute to improving best practices and ensuring that high-quality standards are consistently maintained.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a candidate who has excellent telephone and communication skills and is eager to join our Administration team at Wythenshawe. The position is a busy customer/administration service-based role where no two days are the same. You will need to work flexibly and apply a methodical approach to a varying workload. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team are essential.
You will work alongside the Consultants, Doctors, and Nurses to ensure our patients receive the best care possible, and we are looking for candidates who will bring a positive approach to the working environment.
Successful candidates must have excellent IT skills and experience working in a customer service or healthcare environment as you will be expected to use IT and communication equipment associated with call handling and data input. You should demonstrate high levels of personal commitment to facilitating the delivery of a patient-focused service.
