HSEQ Manager
With travel within Scotland/Central belt
We are looking for a committed Health, Safety, Environment and Quality professional to join us, working within the Sub Station environment. We are currently going through a period of growth and are able to offer the right candidate the opportunity to progress their career further in a diverse and challenging environment within the Sub Station and Civil Engineering industry. The business has a diverse project portfolio from small to large scale sites across Scotland.
Taking responsibility for the operational development of the Health and Safety function, this newly created position will take the lead and maintain an excellent Health and Safety culture, to include writing policies and procedures, maintaining and developing management systems, attending regular client meetings, internal and contractor meetings and carrying out site inspections, audits and recording accidents investigations.
There is significant travel across our sites in the Central belt and Scotland-wide.
This will suit an individual who has strong experience reporting to and liaising with clients on Major projects.
The Role
As HSEQ Manager you will be working closely with the site teams and clients to ensure best practices for all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
The HSEQ Manager role will involve the following:
1. Manage and maintain the companies ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001
2. Ensure compliance with the certified Integrated Management System (IMS)
3. Attending regular client, internal and contractor meetings
4. Develop and implement the HSEQ strategy.
5. Write, update and review policies and procedures.
6. Site inspections, audits, and accident investigations
7. Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Create, implement, and maintain HSE procedures and manuals to ensure regulatory compliance.
9. Management of internal and external audits including closing out audit findings.
10. Create reports on findings and determine corrective and preventative actions.
The ideal HSEQ Manager will have the following experience:
1. Previous experience working within live substation desirable but not necessary.
2. Experience working in Civil Engineering or construction industry
3. Ability to form collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders.
4. Ability to work independently and work on own initiative.
5. Experience of managing ISO systems desirable
6. Have a hands-on, pro-active approach to health and safety.
7. Chartered IOSH Cert (or working towards)
8. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent as a minimum (or working towards)
9. NEBOSH Environmental certificate desirable
10. Valid CSCS card
11. Substation authorisations desirable.
12. Experience or good understanding of CDM
