About the team London & Thames Valley (LTV) Engineering is a team with diverse skills where we are all required to work together to deliver the business objectives, the team are responsible for the delivery of safe, reliable and well-presented trains to the right quality, cost and on time. About the job To provide advanced technical support and fault finding for rolling stock and train software. Support the development of fleet modifications to improve performance, planned and ad-hoc mentoring and development of colleagues, enhanced incident response coverage attending incidents, collection & review of incident data such as OTMR, CCTV and remote monitoring systems and enhanced investigation of repeat defects, technical delays, and fleet performance. Support the wider LTV team, by implementing changes as required by GWR, assist in improving business performance of the areas under the responsibility of the LTV Fleet Manager. What you'll be doing Your main responsibilities will be: Provide advanced technical support and fault finding for rolling stock and train software and write reports and recommend improvements Support and development of fleet modifications to improve performance, Planned and ad-hoc mentoring and development of colleagues so to improve the overall depth of technical knowledge across LTV. Enhanced incident response coverage attending incidents, collection & review of incident data such as OTMR, CCTV and remote monitoring systems. Enhanced investigation of repeat defects, technical delays, and fleet performance. About you You'll need to be: Organised Committed Flexible Process awareness Personable Able to breakdown complexed problems and identify cause and solutions Fault finder Role model & Mentor As a minimum you'll need to have: Advanced knowledge and experience on DMUs (Class 16x) and / or EMUs (Class 387s) and associated fault finding Knowledge and experience working with train software (downloads, uploading, interrogation and analysis.
