The Opportunity
Are you passionate about data and helping organisations understand and get value from theirs?
We are looking for a motivated, experienced business analyst to join our high impact team, working at the heart of the University. The successful candidate will make important contributions to the pipeline of Enterprise Data Warehouse and business intelligence (BI) projects and services which we deliver in partnership with the BI team in Information Services. As well as confidently planning and undertaking the business analysis activities required to deliver new strategic reporting data marts, reports and apps, you will thrive on working as a member of a cross-functional team and pro-actively building strong working relationships across the University.
We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success:
* Experience working as a professional business analyst or equivalent, primarily focused on business intelligence/data analytics and data warehousing.
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including proven success in bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholder understanding.
* Experience with SQL and relational databases, testing IT solutions, and grasping technical fundamentals essential for effective data analysis and system integrity evaluations.
* Demonstrable hands-on experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik or Business Objects.
* Highly effective communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written, with ability to produce clear and compelling business analysis outputs.
