Hays are working with a public sector client to appoint an HR Assistant on a temporary basis. This role is for 6 months.
Your new role
As an HR Assistant, you will be responsible for general support service to the Human Resources/Organisation Development team on all matters including:
1. Human Resources, service delivery, systems and information
2. Organisational Development
3. Resourcing, recruitment and payroll information
4. Employee Relations & Equal Opportunities
5. Learning and Development
6. People and Performance Management
7. Employee Engagement
8. Attendance Improvement and Wellbeing
In addition to this, you will act as lead co-ordinator for processes involving Absence/Attendance, Recruitment or Learning & Development Administration, including the production of regular reports for HR Management and Director of OD as required.
What you'll need to succeed
1. A minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy
2. Be able to demonstrate a minimum of two years' (four years' if you do not have the academic qualifications in Criterion 1) administrative experience in a busy HR environment, including:
1. Dealing efficiently with large volumes of work and prioritising demands.
2. Producing reports and management information using an HR Management Information System.
3. Applying HR procedures and processes to include recruitment and selection, training and development and absence management.
4. Successfully working within a customer-facing environment providing high-level service to stakeholders
3. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and HR Management Information Systems.
4. A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post.
