Our Finance department provides a centrally located finance function for the entire company, supporting operations across Europe and the US. We oversee all financial services, ensuring smooth processing of payments and addressing the needs of staff, customers, and suppliers in a fast-paced, growing business.
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Management Accountant to provide essential cover within our finance team during a temporary absence. You will play a key role in supporting financial operations, delivering insightful analysis, and partnering with stakeholders to drive financial efficiency. This role is a 12 month fixed term contract and will be based at our Head Office in Elstree 3 days per week.
In more detail, your role will include:
1. Financial Analysis and Reporting – Conduct detailed variance analysis, comparing budget vs. actual performance and providing key insights to management.
2. Month-End Close – Support the month-end process, including posting journals, reconciling balance sheets, handling intercompany transactions, and ensuring financial accuracy.
3. Cost Management – Monitor financial efficiency, analyse cost structures, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams to gather financial data, explain variances, and meet reporting deadlines.
5. Audit and Compliance – Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring financial compliance with regulations and standards.
6. Process Improvement and Team Support – Support and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards across all accounting functions, continuously identifying ways to improve efficiency.
7. External Reporting – Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
8. Ad-hoc Tasks – Carry out additional finance-related tasks as required.
Requirements:
1. Solid management accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced or similar industry.
2. A CIMA qualification is preferred but candidates who are AAT, ACCA, or CIMA part-qualified will also be considered.
3. Proficiency in financial software, Excel, and reporting tools.
4. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage time effectively, especially during month/year-end.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders.
6. A collaborative mindset with the ability to adapt to a changing, growing environment and support the team with ad-hoc tasks.
7. A degree in Accounting/Finance is beneficial but not essential.
