We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Stress Engineer to join our dynamic Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing piping stress design and analysis based on project requirements.
Responsibilities
* Perform piping stress analysis using software such as Caesar II to evaluate thermal, seismic, and dynamic loads.
* Identify and resolve pipe routing, flexibility, and support issues to prevent failures or excessive stress.
* Work closely with Piping Designers, Process Engineers, and Structural Designers to optimise piping layouts and support structures.
* Conduct fatigue analysis, nozzle load evaluations, and flexibility studies to ensure equipment and piping system longevity.
* Review vendor documentation, project specifications, and client requirements to ensure alignment with engineering deliverables.
* Provide technical recommendations for pipe support selection, expansion joints, and other stress-relief solutions.
* Support the resolution of field construction issues related to piping stress and flexibility concerns.
* Prepare and present detailed engineering reports and calculations for internal and external stakeholders.
* Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and risk assessments as required.
* Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Experience
* At least 3 years of experience in piping stress analysis within Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power Generation, or Industrial sectors.
* Proficiency in piping stress analysis software (e.g. Caesar II, AutoPIPE).
* Strong understanding of ASME, API, and other relevant piping codes and standards.
* Experience with static and dynamic stress analysis, including wind, seismic, and vibration analysis.
* Ability to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), isometrics, and general arrangement drawings.
* Proficiency in Navisworks and/or Smart Plant Review.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
