Senior Pricing Analyst (Motor): Our Underwriting department is looking to bring on board an experienced Personal Lines Senior Pricing Analyst to join our team based in our offices in London. The Pricing Analyst will report to and provide first line support to the Lead Pricing Analyst and will be responsible for carrying out pricing reviews and changes of the Ageas standard portfolios and key accounts. Engaging with the Underwriting team, Test Teams, and IT Developers, the Senior Pricing Analyst will produce and examine pricing analyses and make recommendations to optimize profitable growth and help implement pricing structures. Therefore, solid knowledge of the personal lines market, pricing, and underwriting principles along with working knowledge of Excel and SAS is a must. The Senior Pricing Analyst must have GI experience ideally in Personal Lines, be highly numerate, and have an inquisitive nature with a flair for manipulating and interpreting data to help improve business performance. Please note that this role will be hybrid with weekly visits to the London office.
Main responsibilities for the Senior Pricing Analyst:
1. Support the Lead Analyst of assigned Accounts from a pricing perspective.
2. Carry out pricing reviews of Ageas standard portfolios and key accounts, through analysis of the profile, mix trends, and performance including by rating factors, new business acquisition, and renewal retention.
3. Make pricing changes/recommendations as appropriate, engaging actively with Underwriting teams to control areas of poor performance and optimize profitable growth and to present these at the appropriate sign-off committee.
4. Produce, monitor, and report on new and current management information to support pricing decisions.
5. Work with other members of the Pricing and Development teams to develop and implement new analytical techniques.
6. Support Underwriting teams in reviewing new, enhanced, or alterations to the product covers and recommending appropriate pricing changes.
7. Work with internal and external IT developers, Test teams, and project managers to support delivery and implementation of pricing structures and rates.
The successful Senior Pricing Analyst will have the following:
1. 2.1 or above in a Mathematical/Statistical/Science/Engineering degree
2. Good knowledge of Excel and SAS
3. Experience with Radar and R/Python are all desirable however not essential
4. High degree of numeracy with good statistical skills to analyze trends and understand modeling techniques
5. Understanding of pricing and underwriting principles and key performance indicators
6. Good working knowledge of the personal lines market and how to manage account performance through the underwriting cycle
7. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical analyses to a non-technical audience
