We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated criminology graduate to join a dedicated team in Kempston as an Aspiring Youth Offending Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in working with young offenders, building rapport with vulnerable individuals, and supporting them in overcoming the challenges they face.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Working with young adults who display challenging behaviors, helping them navigate their difficulties and prevent reoffending.
2. Supporting the development and implementation of tailored intervention plans, aiming to reduce risky behaviors and promote positive outcomes.
3. Engaging with youth offenders on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, building trust and guiding them through rehabilitation programs.
4. Assisting in the development of skills that promote social integration, responsibility, and a positive lifestyle.
5. Collaborating with other professionals, such as social workers, probation officers, and educators, to deliver effective support to young offenders.
What We're Looking For:
1. A criminology graduate with a passion for youth justice and working with young people who display challenging behaviors.
2. Some experience in a related role is desirable but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
3. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young offenders.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with vulnerable individuals and work well within a team.
5. A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people.
6. Local commute to Kempston or the ability to relocate.
