Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver better trained sailors to the front line faster.
You will be required to deliver high quality training support (maintenance) on specific replica ships that allow Warships to be re-stocked/re-fuelled at sea.
Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
* Acting as a line handler/winch operator on the replica ships (Deckhand).
* Acting as a safety number during training.
* Carrying out maintenance tasks on training equipment.
* Ensuring that the maintenance of all authority training equipment is carried out to enable equipment performance standards to be met and the training programme maintained.
* Recording the implementation of equipment maintenance to ensure performance is maintained and changes made with the authority agreement in order that maintenance costs can be reduced over time.
* Ensuring company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
What we’re looking for:
* Previous experience of deck operations within a marine environment.
* Previous experience of mechanical/electrical practices in a marine and/or military environment.
* Previous experience of fault finding, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical or electrical equipment.
* Experience of handling ropes and winches.
* Knowledge of how to use Maintenance Management Systems.
* Demonstrable proficiency in using IT (hardware/software).
* Must be able to gain UK SC clearance.
