Our Children's Bladder and Bowel Serviceprovidesexpert nursing assessment and interventionstoprevent and manage incontinence, as well as support children and young people withchronic continence conditionsacrossGreater Preston, Chorley, and South Ribble.
The team is based atBroadoaks Child Development Centre, our mainCommunity site for Paediatric Services. This naturally providesgreat networking opportunities to collaborate with other teams based here.
⚕️⚕️As the Clinical Nurse Lead for the Children’s Bladder and Bowel Service, you will be working within and leading the team,supporting children who require assessment, care planning, and interventionfollowing referral into the service.

In having overall responsibility for the provision of excellent care with compassionfor children and young people who are known to the service, and their families/carers upon referral, you will ensure thatpatients and their carers experience a high-quality, patient-centred service. This means ensuring care isaccessible, effective, and delivered at a time and place⏳ according to clinical need.
Within this role, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate community nursing interventions, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies.
⚕️⚕️You will also provide clinical leadership and line managementto theChildren’s Bladder and Bowel Service. By providingstrong leadership and direction, you will enable the team to deliverspecialist advice to support theassessment, planning, and implementationof tailored care. This will help children and young people achieve theiroptimum health, independence, and psychological/social well-being.
Clinical skills and experiencein working with children who havehealth-related continence needsare required.
This post is expected to be split80%leadership/ 20%clinicalin terms of responsibilities.

⚕️⚕️⚕️ The role will require you tolead, develop, co-ordinate, and monitorthe provision of ourevidence-based, nurse-led community servicefor children with presenting and ongoing health needs and their families.
To lead the co-ordination of a holistic case management modelfor a caseload of children with identified healthcare needs in the community, who are at risk of repeat admission to hospital. To manage and oversee the provision ofevidence-based nursing carefor children withbladder and bowel-related nursing needs.
️ Toprovide children and young peoplewith the opportunity to be involved indecisions about their careand express their views onservice developmentin an individually appropriate way.
