Are you ready to be part of a forward-thinking company that sets new standards in engineering design and manufacturing? At Balmoral Tanks, we take pride in our commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for quality, and a drive to ensure products meet the highest standards, we want to hear from you!
Who We Are
Balmoral Tanks is a globally recognized leader in engineering design and manufacturing. We have made significant investments in both our people and state-of-the-art facilities, enabling us to offer one of the most comprehensive ranges of tank products in the EU from a single source. Now, we’re looking for a Quality Controller to join our dynamic team at our Llantrisant site.
About the Role
As an Operations Quality Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our products meet stringent quality standards. Using best practices and strict adherence to specifications, you will oversee the inspection and documentation process to guarantee that every product leaving our facility is defect-free.
This role involves working closely with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to conduct thorough inspections and maintain accurate quality documentation. Given that our products are often custom designed for specific customers, meticulous attention to detail is crucial when inspecting and testing both procured and in-house manufactured parts. Your responsibilities will also include verifying packing standards to meet customer and regional requirements.
Beyond inspection and testing, you will contribute to developing and enhancing our quality control procedures, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. By identifying and addressing quality issues, you will help us achieve our goal of Right First Time, On Time, In Full.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines and company safety standards.
2. Conduct thorough inspection of parts and products before advancing to the next production stage.
3. Assist in developing and refining work instructions and inspection specifications.
4. Maintain clear and accurate records of inspection and test results.
5. Use the non-conformance system to report and control defective parts/products.
6. Investigate causes of non-conformance and propose corrective actions.
7. Review quality records generated by production and escalate concerns when necessary.
8. Assess supplier quality documentation to ensure compliance with requirements.
9. Participate in quality improvement projects and workshops.
10. Collaborate with customers and third-party inspectors during plant visits.
11. Work closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues and monitor performance.
12. Contribute to internal and external quality audits.
13. Assist in training colleagues on inspection methods as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Qualifications:
1. Certificate / Level 3 NVQ in engineering or inspection/testing (or willingness to work towards one).
2. Train-the-Trainer skills training (or willingness to obtain within three months).
3. Welding inspection certificate (or willingness to work towards one).
