POSITION SUMMARY
Using independent judgement and with minimal supervision, the Senior Financial Analyst performs various finance functions for the Credit Union including, but not limited to, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and profitability analysis. This position is additionally responsible for the development and maintenance of financial systems and models. The Senior Financial Analyst is cross trained in different aspects of the Finance department and will also assist the Chief Financial Officer and VP, Finance in special projects.
This position supports the hybrid work schedule. The Senior Financial Analyst would be required to work in the office (Southern New Hampshire) in person at least two days a month.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepares financial analysis and reporting for the Credit Union including, but not limited to, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, asset/liability management, and profitability analysis for products, channels, and markets.
* Completes analysis of the monthly financial statements and rate/volume variance reports for interest income and expense analysis, liquidity, investments, and ad hoc reporting.
* Maintains and provides data and analytics in support of the research and development efforts undertaken to improve the Credit Union's products, services, and operations. May need to interface with various divisions to understand data and underlying operational processes.
* Gathers and integrates data and contextual information for the design of rigorous analyses to support carefully crafted projections.
* Prepares and creates financial models, analyses, spreadsheets, charts, and presentations that effectively present data and analytical findings as needed.
* Analyzes general ledger accounts in support of financial plan development, profitability, market, and member demographic data.
* Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of Credit Union data to vendors, maintains and ensures the integrity of the data waterfall and opt-outs.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
* A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others.
* Strong personal computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat) with advanced skill level in MS Excel.
* Requires strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting; skilled working with datasets.
* Knowledge of GAAP and Credit Union accounting policies and practices.
* ProfitStars experience a plus.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
* Five to Seven years of related finance experience.
* Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
