Arriva Traincare have an exciting opportunity arise for a Exam Team Fitter to join the team based in our Crewe depot.
You’ll receive a salary of £36,684.41 along with fantastic benefits including on call allowance, pension, healthcare cover, life cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work scheme and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
Contract : Permanent contract; Monday to Friday 07:00 – 18:00 on a 4 on 4 off shift basis
What will this role of Exam Team Fitter entail?
Reporting into the team leader you will be responsible for providing maintenance of rail vehicles to the laid down procedures. Duties will include;
1. Carry out work allocated by the Team Leader within set timescales
2. Work as part of the exam team servicing customer vehicles to laid down procedures
3. Carry out arising work and fault finding where necessary
4. Operate rail vehicles as required within depot operating limits
5. Ensure safety procedures and documents are adhered to in accordance with VMI & local instructions
6. Ensure work sheets are signed off promptly and correctly on completion of work
What will I need to be considered for this Exam Team Fitter role?
7. Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering – Rail Traction & Rolling Stock preferred
8. Understanding of rail vehicle maintenance
9. Ability to interpret engineering drawings
10. Understanding of both mechanical and electrical engineering
11. Experience of Mark 3, Mark 4 Coaching stock and 15X DMUs – desirable
