Job Summary A highly regarded prep school in Barnet is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. Full-time, term-time position starting January Work closely with teachers to support academic and personal development Excellent training and professional development opportunities Responsibilities and Duties Provide in-class support to teachers, helping to deliver engaging lessons and maintain a positive learning environment. Assist with planning and implementing small group or one-on-one interventions for students requiring additional support. Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development, fostering confidence and independence. Supervise students during activities such as break times, lunch, and school trips, ensuring their safety and well-being. Prepare learning materials and resources to enhance classroom activities. Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and needs. Support the school’s ethos and values, promoting inclusion, kindness, and respect throughout the school community. Qualifications and Skills Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, preferably within a prep or primary school setting. A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents. Patience, empathy, and the ability to engage and inspire young learners. Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to the needs of a dynamic school environment. Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or teaching assistance are desirable but not essential. Enhanced DBS check and the legal right to work in the UK.
