Spire Norwich Hospital have an exciting opportunity to bring on an Engineering Assistant to join their established team on a Bank contract - this essentially is a 0-hour contract which gives you the flexibility to take shifts on when you can which can be to cover sickness / annual leave or should the hospital require additional support. The purpose of this role is to assist the Engineering Manager and work as part of the engineering team to provide a comprehensive and cost efficient service within the hospital.
Responsibilities & Duties:
1. To provide an in-house day to day reactive maintenance service.
2. To undertake maintenance/testing of equipment, ensuring compliance with current HTM recommendations and legislative guidance.
3. Assist in implementation and preventative maintenance programme for all building services, equipment and associated records.
4. To identify personal training and development requirements, and to discuss appropriate solutions with their line manager.
5. To liaise with external contractors providing specialist services to building/building services/equipment.
6. To provide out of hours emergency on-call service.
7. To complete weekly records of plant and services to ensure within required parameters.
8. To order materials required for maintenance purposes ensuring appropriate levels of back-up stocks, and proper storage and security.
9. To deputise in the absence of the Engineering Manager and undertake any other duties as assigned
10. To attend 100% mandatory training and relevant ongoing professional development.
What we are looking for:
11. Qualified as Mechanical Tradesmen to City & Guilds equivalent
12. Post qualification experience
13. Although you are not required to work certain shifts, we are looking for someone who can offer flexibility to work multiple days p/week ideally.
14. Must have right to work in the UK - This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
