Within that, the Army Top Level Budget (TLB) employs around 7,000 MOD Civil Servants located at over 300 locations. Catterick Garrison is a major Army Garrison and Military Town 3 miles (5 km) south of Richmond, North Yorkshire and is the largest British Army Garrison in the world, with a population of around 13,000 people and covering over 2,400 acres (about 10 km2). It provides a range of services to over 20 British Army Regi-ments/Units who are stationed there. An exciting position for a Leading Hand Driver has opened within the Transport Support Unit, Headquarters Catterick Garrison. As part of a hard-working, motivated, and enthusiastic team, you will have an excellent opportunity to work alongside civilian and military colleagues providing crucial transport support to a large number military and civilian staff as well as to many Army Units. This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. Job description As a driver you will complete all driving tasks as detailed by the departments Traffic Manager, driving one of TSUs vehicles depending on your driving licence capability (LGV PSV). You will be responsible conveying passengers and/or commodities for the military customer locally and throughout the UK. Basic daily vehicle roadworthy checks are completed by you on the customers vehicles, and you will assist the Traffic Manager in all aspects of the Self-Drive vehicle fleet by collection & delivery and completing handover takeover documentation. You will take care of minor maintenance tasks on TSU self-drive vehicles and cleaning/valeting. Within the driver role you will be expected to complete some minor IT administration tasks, and work on the vehicle park as and when necessary. You must follow all Health and Safety & Fire regulations employed by the company and comply with all UK legislation and MoD regulations regarding driving hours and road safety. Person specification You will require a Full Driving Licence and driving experience for this role. The Driving Licences required is - A full CAT D. A Coach driving licence is preferable or a full CAT C driving licence. Specific driver training will be delivered to the successful candidate for CAT D entitlement.
