Are you the design director we’re looking for?
We’re seeking a super-talented design director to join our small but growing agency as we strengthen our creative offering across branding, campaigns and content. If you have the skills and ambition to play a part in the creative and operational leadership of our creative team, all the better.
It’s a team made up of permanent employees and freelance talent: writers, designers, animators and developers. But what unites us is our mission to create work with real depth and quality. We’re determined to equip our people with the opportunities, tools and time they need to do that.
You’ll be working in our niche – B2B tech – so agency or studio experience in that world is essential. Probably 8+ years. We’ll want to see lots of B2B tech in your book.
Designing for online and off
We need someone who thinks strategically about the various formats they work in. Beneath specialises in positioning, branding, campaigns and content, so we’re looking for strong design foundations across those disciplines. You might also have a specialism in user experience or campaign work, or some animation skills. Let us know what you’re into.
We’re just as interested in how you approach your work. We want someone who doesn’t just deliver to a brief but asks the right questions and shapes the brief themselves. Because they understand that great design comes from an understanding of the client, the tech and the needs of the user. Someone who’s able to explain and sell their work to teammates and senior client teams alike.
Most importantly, we like team players. Designers who love working with other creatives, and who are open and passionate about their work and the work of the whole team.
We’re a remote agency, so we need someone who’s a good communicator and comfortable chatting and collaborating with colleagues on the other end of Slack chats and Zoom calls.
What you need
* Experience designing for B2B tech companies
* Excellent technical skills and a keen eye for well crafted and balanced design
* Ability to lead and present projects from concepting to execution
* Comfortable covering all aspects of a web design and hand-off from conception
* An ability to explore and implement unique and inspiring ways to bring brands to life in a digital environment
* Experience in working on design systems (atomic design) with strong attention to detail
* Finger on the pulse of digital marketing and best practices
* Experience collaborating with content writers, designers, animators and dev teams
* Comfortable presenting your ideas clearly and concisely with strong written and verbal communication
Tech, tools and specs
* Figma
* Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
* Graphic design and typesetting
* Bonus: experience with After Effects or 3D software
The job specs
* Design Director level – with a mix of graphic design experience and digital skills
* Full-time – but open to flexible arrangements
* Remote but regular meet-ups and socials – offices are so 2019
* £60–70k depending on experience/skills
