Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide expert technical support in mechanical engineering, utilities, and energy conservation for new facilities and major renovations.
* Leverage engineering expertise (i.e., HVAC, automation/BMS, Electrical CQV, GxP, and maintenance) in support of ongoing Global operations.
* Analyze the performance and troubleshoot steam, chilled water, HVAC, compressed air, and water systems.
* Work independently as Engineering Expert to provide on-demand troubleshooting for mechanical utility, safety, and energy issues.
* Communicate effectively with site maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues.
* Support Global Engineering design efforts in capital projects and facilities operations.
* Review design of MEP systems for renovations or new building projects.
* Perform detailed A&E design package reviews and provide technical support for independent site projects.
* Assist sites in performing internal energy assessments and support the energy savings project portfolio.
* Generate RFPs, evaluate proposals, and make recommendations to management.
* Alert management to developing problems requiring intervention.
* Work within a Global environment influencing technically related activities.
* Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Additional Skills:
* Identify and promote successful energy and optimization projects within the CRL network.
* Develop multi-site programs and communicate to senior leadership.
Job Qualifications
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
* Minimum 7 years of experience related to mechanical and utility systems within the life sciences industry.
* Experience in identifying, defining, and implementing energy savings projects.
* Thorough understanding of construction documents and the construction industry.
* Understanding of facilities equipment including boilers, chillers, HVAC, and Building Automation.
* Demonstrated ability to succeed in a Global environment.
* Certification/Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT preferred.
* Sound working knowledge of Building Codes, GLPs, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in standard software including Microsoft Office and CAD.
Compensation Data
The pay range for this position is £50,000 - £75,000 per annum.
