Your new role:
Resource Solutions is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join our client's commercial surveying and design team in the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate will lead and manage the full project lifecycle for building reinstatement projects.
You will play an essential part in the successful execution of various projects, mainly concentrated on the restoration of commercial properties following insured losses and these projects include:
• Logistics facilities.
• Healthcare facilities.
• Industrial facilities.
• Public sector buildings.
• Restaurant extensions.
• Supermarkets.
• Petrol Forecourts.
• Residential developments.
• Fire-affected listed buildings.

You will assist claimants in getting back on track and returning their properties to their original condition.
Your skills & experience:
• Experience in working within the insurance industry.
• Previous experience with complex assignments including concepts of architectural design, construction design and project management.
• Participated in a wide range of surveying activities, ranging from technical reporting and defect diagnosis to preparing schedules of works, contract administration, and project management.
• Prepared and administered contracts, including tender documentation, contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.
• Knowledge of building investigation techniques.
• Maintained a strong understanding of current building regulations, industry best practices, and health and safety requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
• The ability to develop and implement project plans, keeping to the budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor or suitably experienced and working towards becoming Chartered.
• A building-related degree.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
