Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Location: Carlisle Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Are you an experienced and compassionate leader ready to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people? We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a new 4-bedroom children’s residential home in Carlisle. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of a therapeutic care setting that supports boys aged 6–18, helping them to build resilience, improve self-esteem, and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the home in line with the home's Statement of Purpose, ensuring high standards of care and support. Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing, safeguarding, compliance, and quality assurance. Develop and maintain effective communication systems to support a collaborative team environment. Ensure that all care is delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidelines. Identify training needs and support professional development across the team. Maintain compliance with Health & Safety and safeguarding protocols. Monitor and manage the home’s budget, resources, and equipment. Promote an inclusive and supportive environment in line with equality, diversity, and child protection policies. Conduct regular supervisions, appraisals, and performance reviews. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery. Requirements: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards). Proven experience in managing a children’s home or working in a similar role. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. A sound understanding of safeguarding, child development, and emotional behavioural disorders. A full, clean UK driving licence with the ability to work across multiple sites when required. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (fully funded). Desirable: Experience working with young people who display emotional and behavioural challenges.
