Role Summary
An experienced individual delivering Pensions System configuration to both internal and external software and administration clients. A client-facing role, acting as workstream or technical lead for client configuration and an expert in automating scheme calculations, workflows, client output configuration, data migrations, and/or interfaces. The role requires the individual to continuously develop a professional, technical, and commercially aware approach.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Undertake analysis on new pensions projects and/or enhancements to existing projects.
* Analyse changes and enhancements to client’s pensions schemes by taking a view of their impact on the company’s software.
* Analyse the impact of legislation changes to a client’s pensions system functionality, providing advice on the integration of new legislative software modules.
* Interpret and implement legislative changes making use of senior consultant advice where necessary.
* Design the proposed solution prior to coding to ensure it meets business requirements and adheres to technical best practices.
* Undertake the development of and continuous improvements to an appropriate methodology for the construction of pensions calculations.
* Liaise and provide guidance to clients on the production of appropriate test data and results.
* Produce user and pensions systems documentation as required and agreed.
* Provide support and consultancy to clients, including telephone support and site visits.
* Ensure successful application of best practices and all defined policies and procedures.
* Ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables from staff.
* Identify and nurture individual staff development and training within the scope of supervisory responsibility.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills, and behaviours:
Essential
* Prior experience of Pensions Systems configuration
* Analytical mindset
* Administration of DB/DC Pensions Schemes
* Excellent working knowledge of UK Pensions Legislation
* Good ability to perform scheme calculations manually (supported by appropriate tools)
* Excellent understanding of Pensions Administration Business Processes and Workflows
Desirable
* Educated to degree standard preferred
* Relevant qualifications in the Pensions Industry desirable (e.g. Pensions Management Institute Certification)
* UML Certification via ITSQB/ISEB or OMG desirable but not essential
* Strong experience of the Pensions Industry, either as a Senior Scheme Administrator or Business Analyst
