\uD83D\uDD38Have you recently left school?\n\n\uD83D\uDD38Are you interested in starting a career in administration?\n\n\uD83D\uDD38Do you want to earn money while you learn on the job and work towards a Level 6 Business and Administration SVQ?\n\nA small, friendly and supportive medical practice based in the Pollok area of Glasgow is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Modern Apprentice in a Medical Administrator role.\n\nPlease note that this is a part-time role of 25 hours per week where you will be working Monday to Friday from 1pm until 6pm initially. There may be an opportunity to increase hours nearer the end of the year.\n\nThis opportunity is for a Modern Apprenticeship on a 14 month contract but the Practice would be open to offering a permanent role for the right candidate on completion of the Apprenticeship.\n\nThis job will involve reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required and liaising with staff and external agencies.\n\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\uD83D\uDD39Processing requests for appointments and prescription requests\n\uD83D\uDD39Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately\n\uD83D\uDD39Effectively signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional depending on the presenting condition\n\uD83D\uDD39Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies\n\uD83D\uDD39Administration of patient records\n\uD83D\uDD39Inputting data into the patientâs healthcare records as necessary\n\uD83D\uDD39Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner\n\uD83D\uDD39Carrying out system searches as requested\n\uD83D\uDD39Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times\n\uD83D\uDD39Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards\n\uD83D\uDD39Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested\n\uD83D\uDD39Monitoring of stationery supplies\n\uD83D\uDD39Contribute ideas and suggestions to the smooth running of the reception and administrative functions\n \uD83D\uDD38Along with the duties in your role, you will undertake a Level 6 SVQ in Business and Administration and will be supported throughout.\n\n\uD83D\uDD38You will have the opportunity to learn about different aspects of a medical administrator role and about the importance of confidentiality.\n\n\uD83D\uDD38You will learn how to communicate with team members, patients and external partners to provide a high level of customer service.\n The most important thing is that you are motivated, keen to learn and good at communicating with a range of people. You need to be confident to respond to challenges and patient queries.\n\n\uD83D\uDD39National 5 qualifications- particularly in English, Mathematics and Business and Administration- desirable but not essential\n\uD83D\uDD39Good communication and interpersonal skills are important\n\uD83D\uDD39Previous customer service experience is desirable but it is essential that you have an understanding of good customer service\n\uD83D\uDD39Enthusiasm and a 'can do' attitude is key- you should be willing to learn and work hard\n\uD83D\uDD39Ability to work well as part of a team\n\uD83D\uDD39Time management is key- you will be part of a busy GP Practice team and will have to manage your time between your duties and your SVQ work\n\uD83D\uDD39Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information\n\nIf you think you are the right person for this challenging and rewarding role, we would love to hear from you\n
