Job Description
You will be required to support young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The young people you are supporting come from a variety of different backgrounds which make them very vulnerable and cautious of new relationships. As a youth support officer, it will be essential that you work on building relationships with the young people in the school by being a mentor to them and understanding how to communicate with them in the most effective way.
This role requires someone which is resilient and looking for an opportunity to work within alternative education. The reason alternative education is provided is to provide education relevant to the requirements that the young people need for their life outside of school. For example, a lot of vocational lessons are adopted to provide a practical approach to jobs in the future. As well as this, there is also opportunity for the young people to delve into their hobbies and interests to spark a positive relationship between them and education.
This opportunity is very exciting as it will not only give you the opportunity to work with these incredible young people, but will also enhance your knowledge and understanding for your future in Education as a whole.
