Hallam Land is part of Henry Boot, one of the UK’s leading land, property development, home building and construction businesses. Together, we are where great places start.
Hallam Land is one of the UK’s largest land promoters, with hubs across the UK we operate in regions spanning the breadth of the country. Experts in land assembly, strategic promotion and project delivery, we have acquired, promoted, developed and traded in land for 35 years, guiding our customers through the complexities of the UK planning system.
We identify sustainable locations to build where there is a need for homes and jobs. Since 1989, we have facilitated 52,000 new homes, managing one of the top five largest land portfolios in the country, with the potential to facilitate over 100,000 homes. Working across the UK – with landowners, local authorities, communities and other stakeholders, we specialise in promoting residential, commercial and mixed-use sites through the planning process.
In 2023, we invested £38.5 million, taking our total current land investment to over £120 million. With the potential to deliver over 100,000 homes, Hallam Land holds one of the largest and highest-quality portfolios in the housing and land promotion industry.
Hallam Land is managed by a team of experienced company directors, with a combined wealth of knowledge in land and planning. We put people first by delivering the right development for our partners and customers, and by training the next generation of people within the business. We use our expertise to design places for the future.
We are seeking a Sales Disposals Lead / Director to join our dynamic team to lead and facilitate an efficient and effective way of selling sites. We are flexible on location as the successful candidate will be required to travel nationwide, including head office in Sheffield.
The role:
The Site Sales Lead will deal with a range of schemes focusing on complex disposals and large-scale schemes.
For complex sites, the Sales Lead will advise on and direct strategy in relation to the overall sale process from start to finish. This will be on schemes which might include planning for the delivery of infrastructure (and the potential securing of external funding for such delivery) and/or dealing with certain landowner related matters, such as land equalisation or land pooling. It will also require foresight into sale contracts to enable future phases to be sold.
The Managing Director and Executive Directors will work closely with the Sales Lead, to set the agenda, timescales, strategy and direction of the sales process. The Sales Lead will design and implement clear frameworks and processes which will enable a consistent approach across sales of all sites in the portfolio.
The Sites Sales Lead will be responsible for certain complex and/or important site sales and be required to liaise with all involved in the sales process, including legal and agent teams, landowners and people across Henry Boot and Hallam Land.
They will need to be structured in their approach so that the sales process is run as efficiently and effectively as possible, identifying potential issues at a very early stage, and making sure issues/problems are dealt with through the process.
Alongside direct delivery of certain site sales, the Sales Lead will act as advisor to the wider team on sales where the Sales Lead may not have primary responsibility. They will devise and continually review an optimum way of working for the benefit of the wider team and the overall portfolio.
