Conrad Energy is a leading vertically integrated energy company in the UK, owning and operating over 65 energy facilities across the country.
We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Power Scheduling Analyst to join our operations and analytics function within the Trading department. As a key member of our team, you will represent business expertise in energy market analytics and Business Intelligence, leveraging data analysis skills and implementing data solutions to support all areas of the business.
Your primary responsibility will be to extract maximum value from Conrad Energy's flexible energy generation assets in the UK wholesale power and gas markets. You will maximize value from third-party assets under Power Purchase Agreements and manage Conrad's requirements for energy supply customers. Following training, you will trade our generation and storage portfolio while monitoring its real-time performance.
You will work as part of a small team on a shift rotation basis operating our Trading Desk in the Abingdon Office, just outside of Oxford. Our business is rapidly growing with a strong emphasis on developing talent in a relaxed and supportive environment.
We address the energy trilemma (security, sustainability, and affordability), enabling the UK's transition to a low-carbon economy. Our projects deliver critical power and services to the National Grid and industrial customers. Our expertise, technology, and flexibility are key to the UK achieving its net-zero targets.
We have over 900MW in operation and over 1GW in pipeline, providing power for around 1.8 million homes already, with another 2 million in the pipeline. We have grown from a flexible gas generation business in 2017 to become one of the UK's leading vertically integrated energy companies.
Main job tasks and responsibilities include optimizing Conrad Energy's portfolio of generation assets, ensuring accurate execution of strategies in hedging for power and gas contracts, and communicating effectively with our field-based engineers.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, possess a high level of numeracy, and excellent communication and influence skills. Experience in programming languages or big data analytics is advantageous, particularly Python.
