Job summary
We are recruiting for Team Leaders for Operations Division – the teams that the successful candidates will be allocated to depends on where a vacancy falls at the time of appointment. All roles will involve managing a team of approximately 10 to 12 staff. On taking up a post, successful candidates will be required to undertake the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship, if they haven’t already completed this, or an equivalent line management development programme. These first line management roles are key to enabling Operations to meet its targets and in maintaining high levels of engagement within the team. Team Leaders are responsible for enabling their teams to deliver their outputs to the time, cost and quality standards for their functional area and ensuring that team members are effectively supported and developed. Each team works differently, balancing business need with the preferences of the team as a whole and supporting individual needs. Therefore, the opportunities to work in a hybrid way will be shaped by your team and how they work. As an indicator, most Team Leaders are likely to be working on site, from the Taunton Office 2 or 3 days per week as a minimum. Please note our Policy on informal hybrid working does not extend to working overseas. Whilst we welcome applications from those seeking part-time work, please note, there is a business requirement for the successful candidate to work a minimum of 29/30 hours per week over 4 days.

Person specification
Team Leader roles can be challenging yet hugely rewarding. We work in a fluid environment, where anticipating and responding to changing circumstances and requirements whilst keeping the team on track requires personal resilience and the ability to look outside of the immediate task. Successful candidates will have the ability to engage with their team members, supporting them as individuals and progressing outputs and change activities in the team based on business priorities. Teams are made up of technical specialists with a varying range of skill levels and experiences, so the ability to support both the development of the team and development of individuals, tailoring your approach as appropriate, is essential.
