We are currently looking to expand our capabilities and are looking for a Welder/Fabricator to join our workshop and Product Development team. You will play an active role in helping us deliver trailblazing cooking products that feed both people and planet. The ideal candidate for this role will have a logical approach to problem solving, have an excellent welding/fabricating skillset and can work comfortably as part of a workshop team in a fast paced workshop environment. You will work in a modern and well equipped workshop that has the capabilities to weld/fabricate and manufacture using all new and modern equipment. The Product Team is based in our office in Broxburn, just outside of Edinburgh, and this is an on-site role meaning we need someone who is happy to be in the workshop 5 days a week. What you’ll do: Assist the Product engineering team with the manufacture of prototype products. Be responsible for MIG/TIG welding all necessary parts to a high standard Continuously challenge and improve manufacturing processes, identify value engineering opportunities. Fabricate, repair and reconstruct mechanical parts Read and interpret engineering drawings Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety protocols The candidate will be familiar with metal workshop machinery, including: Press Brake Vertical and horizontal bandsaws All powered hand tools What you’ll need to succeed : Have served a recognised apprenticeship and/or have the relevant qualifications in welding/fabricating Experience of rapid jigging is highly desirable. Rather than making production runs we are generally making one and two off prototypes which need to be accurate to drawing. You will have a keen appreciation for workshop health and safety, both in your own work and for the team around you. Must have working experience (at least 3 years) within a workshop environment Ability and confidence to work as part of a team is essential High level mechanical aptitude. An understanding of basic maths and arithmetic. Ability to plan ordinary work from drawings, sketches, templates or from specific verbal instructions. Experience in using hand and power tools.
