Assistant Technical Manager
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Based onsite at Faversham, KentAbout the Role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Technical Manager to join the team and provide specialised insights and essential guidance on all technical and quality matters.You will demonstrate an unwavering commitment to quality, safety and service when collaborating with colleagues and suppliers.This is a standalone position. While there will be support from the Group Technical Manager, proven experience in a food manufacturing environment is essential.Theyre looking for someone who has a hands-on approach, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and a keen eye for detail.About our Client

Provide specialist knowledge and guidance to support the food safety culture
Ensure all products comply with customer specifications
Manage the QMS ensuring compliance with the latest BRCGS standard, and HACCP plans
Facilitate and manage technical audits including GMP audits, contributing to the continuous improvement of the site standards
Manage investigations, identifying root causes, implementing effective corrective, preventative actions and closeouts
Active member of the HACCP Team
Collaborate with the Sales and NPD Teams to ensure product specifications are completed within agreed timescales
Work closely with colleagues to ensure high standards of food safety and quality
Manage annual product traceability, withdrawal, and recall testing
Manage the periodic calibration of measuring equipment (e.g. probes and scales)
Complete allergen rapid testing and ensure allergen samples and swabs are sent to the lab within agreed timeframes
Contribute as part of the management teamSkills and Experience
Minimum 2 years experience in a Technical Management role within the food manufacturing industry is essential
HACCP L3 Food safety qualification or equivalent
Customer-focused with a commitment to customer satisfaction
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels
IT literate including Microsoft Word and Excel
High standards of numeracy, literacy, and attention to detail.
Flexible with a hands-on approach and collaboration abilities
Ability to work at pace and manage multiple deadlines
