Commerical Services Assistant & Driver - Term Time only ROLE DESCRIPTION The main purpose of this role is to assist in the delivery and presentation of food across site and at satellite sites in Newcastle and Gateshead. The post holder is expected to maintain very high standards of customer service and food/ beverage quality at all times. During quieter times of the academic year, the post holder will also be expected to assist our kitchens with: Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities will be to work with the Commercial Services Team Leaders to ensure an efficient and effective service to customers. The post holder will be required to drive the company vehicle professionally and responsibly, delivering and presenting high quality food on a daily basis, under the direction of the Commercial Services Team Leader. Cleanliness, minimising waste, supporting other members of the team and adhering to statutory and NCG policies will also be key elements of the role. Essential Criteria We require a minimum of a Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate, a good knowledge of Health and Safety, food preparation and cooking experience and an appropriate level of numeracy and literacy skills. Work Hours and Patterns This is a 37 week per year contract (Term-Time only), 22.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday 8.30am - 1.00pm About Us Commercial Services is a department within Newcastle College. We have 11 outlets ranging from large refectories, coffee shops, 2 Costa Coffee shops, a convenience shop and a bar for our HE students. These outlets are spread across the Main Campus on Scotswood Road and several outlets at our satellite sites including Riverside Dene at Cruddas Park, Rail Academy in Gateshead and the Aviation Academy close to Newcastle Airport.
