Job Description

We have a great opportunity for you to further develop and expand your experience and skills in a world-class testing environment, supported by an experienced team of engineers and technicians.
Your role will be to support our test facility with the delivery of driveline product performance and durability testing for our motorsport, automotive and commercial vehicle customers. This service operates on a 24/7 basis to meet our customers’ requirements.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and install samples (transmission and electric-drive-units) on test rigs.
* Complete basic Test Automation Setup and Configuration – training will be provided.
* Follow Test and Operational derived Risk Assessments.
* Follow safe Working Procedures at all times.
* Day-to-day maintenance and housekeeping of Facilities.
* Provide basic level of Facility breakdown diagnostics and resolution.
* Act in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times.
Qualifications
* Time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience in a test laboratory, automotive vehicle repair, or heavy truck repair and maintenance.
* EV and/or HV experience (desirable but not essential).
* Driveline testing (desirable but not essential).
* Basic software skills would be an advantage.
* An understanding of CAN and associated tools (desirable but not essential).
Skills
* Proficient with mechanical assembly.
* Able to complete basic electrical wiring.
* Ability to read and understand schematics and engineering drawings - training will be provided.
* Fabrication skills (desirable).
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer-based file structures.
* Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Good organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Other
* The successful candidate is required to have manual handling experience of a load approx. 25kg; activities will include bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
* Shift working Rolling week – 4 on 4 off, alternating early/late.
* Flexibility to travel as and when required.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check.
* NOTE: This position will be based on site – Leyland, Lancashire.
