As one of a multidisciplinary team of experts, including building surveyors, curators, fundraisers and project managers, you’ll be working with others to help make things happen. Your contractual place of work will be the nearest National Trust consultancy office to your home. Our hybrid working policy means you can balance office and home working with site visits and meetings at other National Trust places. We’ll talk about this in more detail at interview, but you should expect to be at a National Trust site for 40–60% of your working week. Expect to be out and about onsite at properties, due to the travel requirements of the role, you’ll need a driving licence and access to your own vehicle (expenses will be paid).You’ll apply your technical excellence to support and lead projects to conserve, maintain, repair and refurbish a wide range of properties across the portfolios; working with buildings and infrastructure ranging from Grade I Listed mansions and visitor facilities, through to other structures such as follies and monuments. You’ll bring your interest and knowledge of sustainable design principles to the projects and properties that you’re involved with, looking for solutions that respond to the implications of climate change and that contribute towards our climate action ambitions.You’ll procure and oversee external consultants and contractors, and liaise closely with our internal specialists.
