Role/ Department:
The Asset Management Division of Northern Trust is a global leader in multi-asset class solutions with expertise in index, active, quantitative and cash & liquidity capabilities, as well as strong knowledge of sustainable trends and strategies.
We are currently seeking a Head of Liquidity for the EMEA region.
The main areas of focus include:
1. Lead the EMEA distribution effort within NTAM’s Liquidity group, including setting the strategic vision for the group and managing the sales team.
2. Strategically position NTAM’s offerings to a broad client base; banks, brokers, insurance, corporates, pension funds, hedge funds, universities, and endowments.
3. Develop new client relationships from direct and indirect investors within EMEA. Support existing relationships where cross-sell opportunities arise.
4. Collaborate with internal NTAM and Bank partners to leverage the best of One Northern.
5. In collaboration with NTAM Investments and Product teams, identify new opportunities within the space, actively participate in the development of products.
6. Work with intermediary platforms, negotiating terms and conditions on distribution agreements. Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders.
7. Raise Northern Trust’s profile internally and externally.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
1. Set the strategic initiatives for the EMEA Liquidity team.
2. Manage the Liquidity sales team.
3. Lead the sales effort.
4. Identify new strategic products and initiatives, collaborate with internal partners to build products and pipelines.
5. Make sales presentations to clients utilizing knowledge of investment products and services. Lead and organize Due Diligence visits.
6. Collaborate with the wider Northern Trust organization to cross-sell One Northern Trust.
7. Maintain knowledge of investment products and services by initiating frequent contact with other financial institutions, partners, industry bodies and keeping abreast of laws and regulations affecting the product and industry.
8. Maintain knowledge of competitors and their products and services.
9. Be actively involved with NT’s Operations team, helping to resolve issues and help build a better model.
Skills/ Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
1. Significant knowledge of investment management and primarily Liquidity and Short-Term Fixed Income Funds.
2. Management experience.
3. Knowledge of ESG landscape and trends.
4. Extensive experience within EMEA positioning and selling Cash & Liquidity solutions with a successful track record.
5. Ability to communicate and sell Northern Trust Asset Management products and services.
6. Strong organizational skills.
7. Self-motivated.
8. Ability to work under time pressures both individually and as a team member.
9. Experience in providing a high level of service to key clients both reactively and proactively.
