The successful candidate will join an established senior leadership team, and will work alongside our Executive Headteacher in leading the school forward to continued success, building on its already outstanding reputation. This post is primarily non-class based; however, it is expected that the Deputy Headteacher will provide class cover and some intervention teaching within the role.
There is a genuine occupational requirement that this post be filled by a Practising Catholic and Priest’s references will be sought.

1. A strong practitioner who can lead by example
2. A demonstrable experience of improving standards of progress and attainment
3. Effective inter-personal skills – someone who relates well to others
4. A confident individual, who is able to lead effectively in the absence of the Executive Headteacher
5. A commitment to the very best for each and every child, developing their God-given talents
6. A commitment to leading and supporting the Catholic ethos of our school in all elements of the role
What we offer:
1. An exciting opportunity to join a pro-active and innovative leadership team, working alongside experienced school leaders as part of a successful Multi-Academy Trust
2. A strong community based on strong relationships between school, home and parish
3. Happy, secure and motivated pupils
4. A dedicated and supportive staff, leadership and governance team
St John’s is part of the Government’s School Rebuilding Programme, and construction of a brand new building is due to commence shortly. A state-of-the-art, modern, sustainable school is due to be completed by the end of 2025, and the successful candidate will play a key part in this exciting transition for the school community.
We warmly encourage prospective candidates to visit the school prior to application. To arrange this, please contact the school office directly.
