Position Overview
The Operations Field Engineer at RICOTECK Limited plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our diverse services, particularly those involving machinery, vehicles, and on-site technical support. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, operational proficiency, and client communication skills. You will be responsible for providing on-site support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for a variety of equipment and systems across our different service areas. Your ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, maintain equipment, and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams will be essential to ensuring operational efficiency and client satisfaction across these various service areas. This role requires a combination of hands-on technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a client-centric approach to contribute to RICOTECK's mission of empowering businesses and individuals through technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Machine Management:
* Provide on-site support for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment across various service areas, including printing equipment, heavy machinery, and IT infrastructure.
* Operate and oversee the proper functioning of various classes of vehicles, such as trucks, forklifts, and specialized field equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained, safe to operate, and readily available for use in different service operations.
* Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and machinery, leveraging technical expertise and problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
* Conduct regular checks and preventive maintenance on machinery and vehicles to ensure optimal performance, minimize downtime, and extend their operational life span, contributing to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of various service offerings.
* Support the planning, scheduling, and coordination of electrical and mechanical field operations, ensuring efficient resource utilization and alignment with project timelines and client expectations.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
* Perform both corrective and preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, machinery, and vehicles, adhering to maintenance schedules and industry best practices to minimize operational disruptions and ensure equipment longevity.
* Ensure that all machinery and vehicles are in full working condition, proactively troubleshooting and resolving malfunctions as they arise to maintain operational efficiency and prevent delays in service delivery.
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs for machinery and vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, facilitating transparency and accountability in equipment management.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
* Serve as the primary technical contact for clients on-site, providing clear and concise explanations of technical issues, progress updates on field operations, and solutions to address any challenges that may arise.
* Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other field personnel to ensure that operations meet project timelines, specifications, and client expectations, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
* Provide training to field teams or clients on the proper operation and maintenance of machinery, vehicles, and electrical systems, empowering them to utilize equipment safely and effectively.
Documentation & Reporting:
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of machine and vehicle maintenance, field activities, technical issues, and resolutions, ensuring that all relevant information is documented for future reference and analysis.
* Generate and submit regular status reports to management, highlighting any challenges, risks, or improvements related to machinery, electrical systems, or vehicles, contributing to informed decision-making and operational oversight.
* Document and track any equipment failures, repairs, or modifications to ensure full transparency and accountability, facilitating continuous improvement efforts and asset management.
Safety & Compliance:
* Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines related to machinery operations, electrical work, and vehicle use, ensuring compliance with OSHA, environmental, and electrical industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
* Promote safety best practices on-site, conducting regular safety inspections, and addressing any potential hazards promptly to ensure a secure working environment for all team members and stakeholders.
* Regularly inspect machinery, vehicles, and electrical systems for safety issues, taking corrective action as needed and ensuring that all equipment meets safety standards and regulations.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements, best practices, and industry standards in electrical systems, machinery, and vehicle maintenance to improve technical expertise continuously and operational efficiency.
* Provide feedback on operational procedures and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase the life span of equipment and vehicles, contributing to the optimization of service delivery and resource management.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
* 2+ years of experience in a field engineering role, with demonstrated proficiency in electrical systems, machinery operations, and vehicle maintenance, preferably within a service-oriented industry.
* Proven experience operating and maintaining various classes of vehicles, including trucks, forklifts, and specialized field equipment relevant to RICOTECK's service offerings.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, machinery diagnostics, and troubleshooting methods, with the ability to apply technical expertise to resolve complex issues efficiently.
* Familiarity with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and guidelines.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals, demonstrating a strong understanding of technical documentation and specifications.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and provide effective solutions in high-pressure situations.
* Ability to perform both mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, demonstrating versatility and a comprehensive understanding of equipment functionality.
* Proficient in using diagnostic tools for machinery and vehicle inspections, ensuring accurate assessments and effective troubleshooting.
* This role involves a mix of fieldwork and office-based activities, requiring adaptability to different environments and working conditions.
* Extensive on-site work in industrial, outdoor, or remote environments, potentially involving exposure to varying weather and physical demands.
* Frequent travel to job sites, client locations, and other operational areas as required, necessitating flexibility and adaptability to different work locations and the potential for long hours on the road.
* Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety procedures is mandatory to ensure personal safety and compliance with industry regulations.
