We are currently seeking a Field Operations Manager to join Thames Water on a permanent basis. This role will be based out of Maple Lodge STW.
As the Field Operations Manager for the SSPS (Small Sewage Pumping Station) Team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Pumping Technicians working in the field across the West of the Thames region. Your responsibility will be to ensure your team maintains the daily management of our Pumping Assets for our customers, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
What you will be doing as a Field Operations Manager:
* Manage a team of experienced Skilled Technicians responsible for the operational maintenance of our Pumping Assets.
* Deliver and stretch your Team's performance, linking to company performance metrics such as pollution, flooding, and customer complaints.
* Drive an industry-leading Health and Safety culture, ensuring safety through audits, inspections, and observations.
* Control and monitor the Team's spending and budget, ensuring efficient service delivery.
* Collaborate with the SSPS Team, including the Area Manager and Planning teams, to ensure a positive working environment prioritizing customer service.
* Respond to high-profile operational events that may impact customers or the environment.
* Support Out of Hours Call-out cover on a Roster basis.
To be successful, you will have the following skills and experience:
* Operational management experience.
* Excellent people-management skills to empower a high-performing team.
* Experience in front-line waste network operations is ideal.
* Ability to work within a budget; experience managing operational spending is desirable.
* Understanding of SAP and work order management is advantageous.
* A full current driving license and own transport are essential.
