Cleaning Supervisor
We are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to work with a range of Mitie clients to manage a cleaning team,
· Support the Cleaning Account manager and Senior Supervisor to deliver the contract at AWE
· Organise and lead a cleaning team ensuring that the contract service delivery is of a high standard, meeting all SLA's whilst adhering to the cleaning schedules.
· To actively promote and be involved in the training and development of the House-keeping team
· Monitor work performances to ensure the correct standards are met and that they are working effectively, whilst adhering to all health a safety procedure.
· Keep open lines of communication between the House-keepers, other Supervisors and the Mitie management team
Main duties
· Flexible business support approach for ad hoc tasks, and to assist colleagues and other teams as and when required.
· Motivate and develop your team to encourage good team spirit and a culture of high performance
· To understand and comply with HR and H&S policies and procedures
· To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
· To attend and fully participate in training and appraisals
· To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
· Ensure that the service is delivered effectively and efficiently to a high standard
· To build positive and productive working relationships with all customers, delivering excellent customer service and seeking ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations
· Adhere to Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures on site and to MITIE's policies and procedures.
· Be aware of material expenditure and ensure adequate cleaning equipment and materials in your area are ordered, ensuring within agreed budgets.
· To ensure that a high standard of personal hygiene is maintained and to give attention to hands/finger nails, hair care and general appearance. Shoes must be fully covered with tread and appropriate for the requirements of the role.
Person Specification
· This is a full-time post: 9DFN (Nine-day fortnight) – Average 40.5 hours per week – subject to roster change
· Full driving licence preferred but not essential
· DV clearance is preferable but S/C working towards DV will be considered. However, to successfully complete this position DV clearance must be obtained.
· Minimum 2 years supervisory experience or Highfield level 3 qualification
· Highfield level 3 qualification or equivalent must be obtained (training will be provided)
· BIC@S accredited training must be obtained (training wil be provided)
· Demonstrable decision-making skills be self-driven and determined
· Drive for continuous improvements in service delivery
· Able to use own initiative
· Deal with complaints and rectify immediately
· Highly organised with excellent planning skills, efficient and effective
· Brief all SSoW associated with the House-keeping role and ensure that the team understand the briefing.
· Brief/train House-keepers correct manual handling
· Train new employees and ensure they are competent to carry out their role as a House-keeper
· Check House-keeping competencies every days and ensure continued compliance
· always Observe client's and Mitie company rules
· Maintain any records as requested by manager/Mitie procedure: Competencies/Manual Handling Awareness/Toolbox talks/Cleaning check sheets and machinery check sheets
· Under go and attend all Mitie/AWE training
· Follow all AWE security procedures
· Be flexible to any adhoc tasking requested by Manager/Senior Supervisor
· Be very proacitive in the “One Mitie” team
Health and Safety responsibilities
· Always Follow Group and company policies and procedures;
· Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment;
· Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received;
· Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system;
Information Security
· Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities;
· Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager;
· Report actual and suspected security incidents;
