Ruby Software Developer - Tech for Good and Geospatial Data
Global Leading Non-for-Profit Nature Conservation Organisation are looking for several Ruby Developers to join their team looking after their flagship product! This company helps to conserve endangered species, climate change, oceans and natural landscape. This role would primarily be within the remit of geospatial data and web based mapping tools, contributing to global-scale platforms and services with Ruby.
Role – Ruby Developer
As a Ruby Developer you will be working in a highly varied role, responsible for a combination of systems architecture tasks and software development, helping the organisation to improve their services in a bid to help the planet. You will be working on setting the technical direction whilst providing technical leadership and shaping the architectural decisions to leverage the organisations growth to provide better outcomes for wildlife. This role provides complex and challenging work but will be critical to shaping their innovation within their space.
Ruby Developer Requirements:
1. 2+ years of Ruby Development
2. Experience with Web Mapping (PostGIS, CartoDB) - Desired but not essential
3. Experience using GIT/ Version Control
4. Experience with updating software and database versions on Unix-based systems
5. Undergraduate degree in computer science (Desirable)
