Responsibilities: Support the Head of MFL in providing strategic leadership and direction for the department, ensuring alignment with the academy's overall vision. Contribute to the planning, delivery, and assessment of a high-quality French curriculum across all year groups (potentially KS3, KS4 and/or KS5). Lead and mentor a team of dedicated French teachers, providing ongoing coaching, professional development, and support. Foster a stimulating learning environment that promotes a love of the French language and culture, encouraging students to develop fluency and confidence. Play a key role in curriculum development, ensuring it aligns with national standards and best practices in French language teaching. Contribute to the recruitment, selection, and performance management of French teachers. Actively participate in the wider academy community, collaborating with colleagues across different departments. Qualifications and Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in French. A minimum of 5 years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting, with demonstrably strong leadership qualities. Excellent subject knowledge and a proven track record of raising standards in French. Strong strategic vision and the ability to translate this vision into a successful departmental plan. Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
