IMS Lead – Shape the Future of Energy with the CWA
The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is leading the charge on one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure projects – Sizewell C, a state-of-the-art 3.2-gigawatt low-carbon power station that will provide electricity for 6 million homes for decades to come. We are looking for an experienced and passionate IMS Lead to join our team and ensure the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance across this groundbreaking project.
As an IMS Lead, you will be at the heart of digitising and enhancing our Integrated Management System (IMS). Your efforts will directly contribute to improving tracking and reporting processes, ensuring that we maintain high standards throughout the project’s lifecycle. You will play a critical role in implementing quality planning strategies, supporting the delivery teams, and driving continuous performance improvements across the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the IT and Project Information teams to digitise and optimise the IMS for easy access and progressive tracking.
* Develop progressive assurance tools for monitoring quality performance, while reporting and addressing performance issues across teams and suppliers.
* Lead quality planning, review key deliverables, and create submission strategies for progressive records.
* Establish and maintain risk-based audit schedules to ensure compliance with ISO standards and client-specific nuclear project requirements.
* Lead management reviews and track corrective actions for system improvement, promoting a culture of compliance and quality throughout the project.
* Manage external accreditations, including ISO 9001, CARES, and other industry licenses, to ensure the business can operate effectively in the nuclear sector.
* Drive the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across the project, working closely with teams to ensure best practices are followed.
* Develop and maintain key relationships with delivery teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met.
* Lead investigations into non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly and effectively.
* Provide training and guidance on IMS processes to ensure awareness and compliance across all project teams and the supply chain.
* Monitor and track supplier performance, providing recommendations for improvement where necessary.
* Support project teams in developing and implementing quality assurance strategies and documentation.
* Champion innovation and standardisation projects across teams and suppliers to improve efficiency and quality outcomes.
What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for a professional who brings a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail. Your experience will be key to ensuring that we meet the demanding standards of a project of this scale.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* A BSc in Engineering or Science (or a related discipline).
* Proven experience working on large, complex projects, preferably in infrastructure or the energy sector.
* Deep knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including certification as an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
* A strong track record in quality management and a passion for driving continuous improvement across teams and projects.
* Demonstrated experience in quality planning, auditing, and compliance management, ideally in the nuclear or high-regulation sectors.
* A proactive and pragmatic approach to problem-solving, with the ability to drive change and challenge existing ways of working.
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to build relationships with senior management, project teams, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.
* Experience in facilitating cross-functional teams and supporting project managers in driving quality improvements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, lead, and negotiate at all levels.
* Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Diploma in Quality Management from the UK Chartered Quality Institute or equivalent).
* Experience in working with nuclear projects and understanding of specific industry quality standards and regulations.
